Continuing on the new house theme for a moment, one of the other things we'll be changing about the house is our phone service.

Currently we have a more expensive monthly charge with our phone company (to get cheaper calls), but we're gonna move to the cheapest possible service (because we need a line for ADSL), and then we'll use Skype phones to make all or outgoing calls. In fact, we make outgoing calls very rarely, most calls are either people calling us or they are longer ones to parents/friends, many of which have Skype anyway.

I already use a Dualphone 3088, which I'm very happy with, but it doesn't yet support multiple handsets, a must for a phone system where we'll need a handset in each room, or at least enough handsets to go round.
