I was in the unfortunate position yesterday of my flight being cancelled due to some bad weather between the UK and Amsterdam. Luckily (and I have to thank my wife for reminding), but a keep quick website check told me that the flight had been cancelled. It didn't tell me anything else, but I did at least know. That saved me a 90 minute car trip, and more importantly a 3 hour car trip there and back for my wife.
Ironically, trying to get information out of a real person on the phone was more difficult. A stupid touch-tone system made it increasingly difficult to actually get to someone, including one section which said 'This call will be disconnected unless you press 1' continually, forcing to keep listening and pressing the button, instead of waiting patiently in a queue.
