The problem is that users from the Windows world expect Linux to work the same, because they hear it is a replacement, but they are not willing to learn or adapt to the new system. Too often we hear 'but X doesn't work like Windows' or 'Y doesn't run on Linux'. <\/p>\n

We should be carefully pointing out that 'X doesn't work like Windows, but Q is an alternative way of doing the same thing' and 'Y doesn't run on Linux, but Z is much better piece of software'. <\/p>\n\n\n
